BANKE: Locals of Khas Karakadau VDC in the district have padlocked the VDC office indefinitely accusing VDC secretary Keshav Prasad Poudel of being involved in irregularities.

All the villagers except the cadres of UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML were involved in padlocking on Saturday.

The agitating villagers claimed that secretary Poudel had conducted the 19th village council meeting boycotting majority of the villagers.

The cadres of Nepali Congress, Terai Madhesh Democratic Party, and RPP said that they would not lift the padlock until an action was taken against the VDC secretary.

Poudel has not been present in the office since the padlock.
