VDC secretaries halt work across the nation
Lalitpur, January 6:
The agitating VDC Secretaries today shut down work at all the VDCs across the country, in protest against the alleged inability of the government to follow the commitments made in the past to resolve the problems facing the VDC secretaries, including the increasing insecurity in the Tarai districts.
The VDC Secretaries’ Rights Protection Centre had decided to close down the VDC offices today and tomorrow, along with the decision to continue the agitation postponed to date.
The agitation had to be continued with a two-day shut down in order to exert pressure for fulfilling of our demands, said Central President of the Centre, Bhuwani Prasad Ghimire.
