Vehicular movement along Narayangadh-Muglin road banned

KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan has been banned for seven hours today, citing security reasons.

The traffic will be barred from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm as a team of engineers are removing a rock at Setodobhan that possesses risk to the travellers.

Project Engineer Shiva Prasad Khanal was quoted in the Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying " The road will be open for one-way traffic from Sunday." Around 700 meters wall of the cliffs is yet to be cut.

He also urged vehicles to use an alternative route temporarily.

Work to cut cliff walls will begin from Sunday from 7:00-8:30 am, 11:00 am-12:00 pm, 1:00-2:00 pm and 3:00-4:00 pm.

Only 58 percent of the road widening project has been completed so far despite extending the project deadline several times.
