Vehicular movement resumes on Prithvi Highway

DHADING: Prithvi Highway that was obstructed following the landslide at Baireni Bazaar in Dhading since last night has been cleared this morning.

Mudslides occurred at various sections of the highway while dozens of houses were inundated in Baireni Bazaar. The water mixed with mud entered human settlements from the sand extraction site above the highway, claimed locals.

The highway section at Baireni Bazaar had been covered with sludge obstructing vehicular movement due to the incessant rain since last night, informed Baireni Police Post.

The debris from Maheshdhovan-Galchi road section has been cleared using eight bulldozers since morning, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Kumar Baidawar of District Police Office, Dhading.
