Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun on Monday said that Sita of the Ramayan was a woman of dedication, purity and virtue.

He hailed Sita as the ideal woman of Nepal, for helping Nepal to be recognised across the  world and earning a reputation for the country.

Addressing Janaki festival organised on the occasion of Janakai Day at Katahariya bazaar  of Rautahat, Vice-president Pun extended best wishes for the

end of all  kinds of discrimination against women in the country.

He stressed the need to preserve cultures of all communities and groups to save the  identity of multiculturalism and multilingual society.

He said that addressing the demands raised in the past by different groups and  communities would help strengthen mutual cooperation and unity.
