Victory rallies taken out in western region
Pokhara, May 19:
Victory rallies were taken out to celebrate the declaration of the House of Representatives in different districts of the western region.
Nepali Congress and CPN-UML took out separate victory rallies in Kaski district to welcome the declaration. The victory rally taken out by the CPN-UML, Kaski, began from the Taxi Chowk of Bagar and went around Bindhyabasini, Nalakomukh, Tersapatti and turned into a mass meet after arriving in Bhimsen Chowk of Mahendra Pul. On the occasion, CPN-UML Kaski district secretary, Somnath Adhikari Pyasi, said the declaration is historic one in the world history. A victory rally was organised by the NC, Kaski, from BP Chowk went around Bhimsen Chowk, Naya Bazaar, Prithvi Chowk, Jana Andolan Chowk and turned into the mass meet at Sirjana Chowk.
Addressing to the meet, NC, Kaski district president, Yagya Bahaur Thapa, said the declaration has made Nepali people sovereign.
According to our Lekhnath correspondent, the victory rally was taken out in Kaski’s Lekhnath municipality today.
The rally started from Lekhnath’s Sisuwa and the participants carried flags of different political parties.
Later it turned into a mass meet at Tal Chowk. Similarly, a victory rally was taken out in Besisahar, the Lamjung district headquarters, our local correspondent reported.
A report from Tanahun said the NC, Tanahun, staged a victory rally in Damauli today. The rally started from the Loktantrik chowk and went to Ganatantra chowk and converged in an assembly at Ansan Chowk.
Addressing the assembly, leader of NC-Democratic, Amar Raj Kaini, said the declaration has made people sovereign and the king powerless.
Bhim Prasad Gautam of Janamorcha Nepal, Ram Chandra Pokhrel of NC, Ek Bahadur Rana of CPN-UML, Samundra Godar of NC-D, Gunanidhi Sharma and Tararaj Rana also expressed their views on the occasion. A victory rally was staged in Gorkha also. The rally went around thoroughfares of the city and converged into an assembly. Hari Ghale of NC, UML secretary, Babu Ram Thapa, Bishwodev Shrestha of NC-D, journalist Kishor Jung Thapa, human right activist, Dil Bahadur Basnet and teacher, Ekanath Aryal, addressed the assembly.
