In the first round, 112 votes were counted in which Nepali Congress' mayoral candidate Kantika Sejuwal leads the table with 66 votes while Jagat Bahadur Khatri trails behind with 53 votes. CPN Maoist Centre mayoral candidate Ashok Shrestha has so far garnered 28 votes whereas Apsara Jyaupane has 30 votes.

CPN-UML mayoral candidate Shantilal Mahat has so far garnered 10 votes while Menaka Regmi Chaulagain has eight votes.
