PHALEBAS, PARBAT: The elderly citizens of a single village in the district have been honoured in recognition of their contribution to the society.

Ward office at Huwas of Paiyun Rural Municipality-4, on Thursday, honoured senior citizens from 78 to 106 years of age. Ward Chairman Mahendra Shrestha informed that the senior citizens were honoured as part of an approved programme of the ward office.

Shrestha said the office honoured 73 elderly citizens including 106-year-old Dal Bahadur Kami, who is the eldest person in the village.

On the occasion, Parbat District Coordination Committee's Deputy Chief Yam Kumari Rana praised the ward office for honouring the senior citizens.
