Warm clothing distributed among Dang elderly people

TULSIPUR, DANG: Warm clothing were distributed among elderly people in Tulsipur Sub Metropolitan City in Dang district on Sunday.

As part of the sub metropolis' programme, Mayor Ghanashyam Pandey initiated the distribution by providing clothing to 103-year-old Basyauni Chaudhary.

The warm clothing, comprising of sets of woolen caps, blankets and shawls, were distributed among elderly people above 80 years of age living in ward no. 19 of the sub metropolis.

Of the total 16 elderly people, nine - above the age of 80 years from Dalit and Janajati communities and above the age of 84 years from other communities - living within the sub metropolis were provided with the clothing yesterday; while seven others would get the clothing today, Mayor Pandey said.

On the occasion, the elderly people also received health check-up.

Likewise, warm clothing were also distributed to 28 elderly people above 84 years of age in ward no. 18 of the sub metropolis. Similarly, the sub metropolis' ward no. 4 office distributed the clothing to 20 senior citizens above 80 years of age.

The senior citizens expressed happiness that the distributed clothing would provide them with relief. Further, they suggested that the ward offices should carry out other exemplary works.
