Water crisis increasingly haunts Kavre folks

BANEPA: With the beginning of the summer season, people here are facing severe shortage of drinking water in Kavre district.

The water sources have gone dry resulting in shortage of water at various places across the district. Likewise, locals in the district are also forced to find out the alternatives.

The District Drinking Water and Sanitation Office was planning to make the water available from alternative sources. However, the Office is yet to carry out a concrete plan in this regard.

The Office sources said that it was planning to collect the rain water and supply to the villagers.

Around 200 sources of water have dried up at the settlements in Chandeni Mandan, Timal and other VDCs in the Koshipari region.

Similarly, the water volume has decreased at 417 sources while there is no alternative source at 181 places, the Water Supply Division Office, Dhulikhel stated.
