Water level in Saptakoshi increases, 22 sluice gates opened

ITAHARI: Incessant rainfall in eastern Nepal since Tuesday has increased water level in the Saptakoshi River.

According to the Koshi Barrage Control Room, the water flow was 161,425 cusec at 7 am today.

The Control Room informed that 22 sluice gates of the barrage were opened after the water level increased suddenly today.

SP Poshraj Pokhrel of the District Police Office, Sunsari, said that the water level is expected to rise as the hilly region witnessed rainfall throughout the night.
