KAPILVASTU: A drinking water project constructed at the cost of Rs 12 million in Mahendrakot VDC of Kapilvastu district has been in limbo due to lack of regular water supply in the taps.

The project was constructed five years ago with the financial assistance of the government of Finland.The locals had also contributed in cash and kind. However the project after completion could not be maintained for long. There was no regular water supply as pipes were washed away by the rivers during rainy season. thou-gh a large amount of investment was made in the project, people are completed to drink water contaminated with arsenic.
