CHITWAN: It is hard to believe that the price of cow's urine is six time higher than milk.

However, it is true in Chitwan as Cow Protection Centre in Bageshowri of Devghat in Chitwan district is selling purified urine at Rs 300 per litre.

The price of 1 litre milk is Rs 50 in markets of the district.

The demand of purified urine is high as it has many healing properties. Different diseases like cancer, diabetes and ulcer can be healed by the urine.

Yogi Naraharinath had established the Cow Protection Centre in 1992/93 after finding the rarity of local cows. The Centre that started with two cows now has 200 cows with 10 workers.

The Centre used to sell only the purified urine, but not the milk.

Likewise, the Centre is planning to sell the dung and male calves too after some time.
