PHALEBASH: Wife of a convicted paedophile was found dead at her home in Jaljala Rural Municipality-3 of Parbat district on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Mithu Darji, wife of local shaman Khem Bahadur Damai.

Darji, was found dead in her own room yesterday, said Inspector Lila Raj Lamichhane of Parbat District Police Office. It is yet to ascertain the cause of the death, he added.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased have been sent to the Beni-based District Hospital for postmortem and further investigation into the case is underway.

The husband of the deceased, who was incarcerated in Parbat District Jail for molesting children under the pretext of treating them through traditional shamanistic methods, was granted approval to attend the last rites under police supervision, said Jailer Prakash Paudel at the jail.
