Wild elephants from Koshi Tappu enter human settlement in Saptari
SAPTARI: Wild elephants from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve wrecked havoc in Kanchapur Municipality of Saptari district.
The tuskers came outside the woods in two herds on Monday night.
They damaged Rajendra Prasad Gupta's house in Kanchanpur-1, according to the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.
The damage include food items, furniture, utensils, electronic appliances and other household goods which are worth more than Rs 65,000.
Locals with the help of security personnel, deployed from Area Police Office, chased away the wild elephants.
