Will initiate action against suspended officials as per law: SP Kathayat

DHANGADI: Authorities are preparing to arrest the suspended law enforcement officers vis-a-vis a complaint filed by rape and murder victim Nirmala Panta’s mother and falsely accused Dilip Singh Bista’s brother, official says.

According to Kanchanpur Superintendent of Police Kuber Kathayat, police, as per the law, will arrest and initiate a probe into suspended officers in line with a case lodged against the officers involved in preliminary investigation in the rape and murder case.

Nirmala Panta’s mother, Durga Devi Panta on Tuesday had filed a complaint accusing expelled SP Dilli Raj Bista, Inspector Jagdish Bhatta of erasing evidence and other officials of aiding Bista-Bhatta duo in the act.

Durga Devi filed the complaint of conduct against justice while Bista’s brother filed a case on count of torture.

Both complainants have demanded stern action against the expelled officials and other officials including the then DSP Gyan Bahadur Sethi, Inspector Ekendra Khadka and Central Investigation Bureau DSP Angur GC.
