Will never bow down to foreign forces, says Dahal

BUTWAL: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said Nepali people would not bow down to any foreign force though the latter inflicted pain on them.

Speaking at a press meet in Butwal of Rupandehi district today, Dahal said, "Be it blockade or any difficult circumstances, we should not bow down; Nepalis will fight till the last minute."

"We are being forced to submit now,"  he added, "but we Nepalis fight united for our nationality."

Current challenges have inspired people to work hard and make the nation prosperous, he added.

Meanwhile, the Maoist leader said that it is high time Nepal redefined its relation with India.

Efforts are underway to resume friendly relation with India and end the ongoing border obstructions, according to him.

India as an important neighbour, on its part, should also take initiatives to end the ongoing impasse, he suggested.

Dahal went on to explain that the new Constitution did not discriminate anyone, rather it offered more rights to Madhesi people.

The key leader of present ruling coalition also shared that the government wanted to address demands of Madhes-based parties through talks.

He was of the view that the government should move ahead by winning the confidence of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, also.

Dahal was accompanied by party secretary as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi.
