Damauli, October 4

A woman originally from Chitwan and currently residing in Byas Municipality committed suicide by hanging with a rope in her rented room, last night.

She has left a video of her suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Sita BK, 28, who along with her two sons had been living in the house of Narendra Shrestha in the municipality. Her husband Ramu BK had left for his home in Chitwan some days ago.

As per what could be seen in the video, Sita took her life by hanging with a shawl from the ceiling fan in her room, DSP Sunil Malla at the District Police Office, Tanahun, said. In the video, she blamed her husband and others for her taking such an extreme step.

Her elder son Samir and younger son Samarpan searched for their mother after she disappeared from the room where they had fallen asleep at mid night. The two boys cried for help after the saw their mother hanging in the next room. Meanwhile, locals informed police and, soon, a team deployed from the DPO reached the incident site the same night.

According to police, Sita had called her husband who was in Chitwan at 11:15pm. According to her family members, she was a thyroid patient and was also struggling with depression. They said Sita had attempted suicide earlier as well. DSP Malla informed that her body had been kept at Damauli Hospital for post-mortem and that further investigation into the incident was under way.
