KATHMANDU:  A woman died after her shawl got caught in a wheel of the motorcycle she was riding pillion on and fell onto the road, at Devisthan, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-4 of Sunsari district on Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as Sukuna Shrestha (31), a local of Beltar-1, Udayapur, who was on the motorcycle (Ko 6 Pa 8675).

She was heading to Dharan from Dhankuta along the Koshi Highway when she fell onto the road from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries.

According to the Dharan Area Police Office (APO), Shrestha was rushed to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment.

Police impounded the bike and took the rider in custody.
