Women to protect trees along roads

Eastern Region Road Office, Lahan has given responsibility to the women to take care of the fruit trees planted along the Mahendra Highway. The office said a 700-member Buddha Women Savings and Loan Cooperative at Zero Mile has been authorised care the trees along the highway. The office had planted mango trees along the seven kilometre section of the highway at the cost of Rs 200,000 provided by the Swiss Development Organisation. Hari Krishna Shrestha, the office chief said the women would have the right to the harvest fruits.
