Won't accept amendment bill as it is, reiterates Federal Alliance

KATHMANDU: The Federal Alliance has decided that the Constitution amendment proposal registered in the Legislature-Parliament could not be accepted in its current form.

A meeting of the Alliance held here on Wednesday decided that the Alliance would accept the amendment bill only if it was brought with revision, said Alliance Coordinator and Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, Upendra Yadav.

The meeting also drew that conclusion that the Supreme Court order regarding the Constitution was appropriate.

Meanwhile, the Alliance concluded that there was no meaning of holding elections without moving ahead with the amendment.

Leaders of the Alliance including Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, FSF-N Co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha, Sadbhawana Party General Secretary Manish Kumar Suman, Federal Limbuwan Party's Kumar Lingden and Tharuhat Tarai Party's Bhanuram Tharu were present at the meeting.
