Sankhuwasabha, June 24:

Cadres of the Young Communist League today caught Sankhu-wasabha District Land Revenue Officer Gopal Shibakoti red-handed while taking bribe from two land owners.

A team led by YCL district president Biswas arrested Shibakot, who was taking Rs 10,000 bribe while transferring the ownership of a land of Rajendra Kumar Kumal to Tularam Kumal in Khandbari. After arresting Shibakot, the YCL team handed over him to CDO Mukunda Adhikary.

Rajendra and Tularam said that they were compelled to cough up Rs 10,000 to get their land transferred. Shibakoti confessed to taking bribe, CDO Adhikary said, adding that action would be initiated against him.
