Lamjung, March 11:

Cadres of Unified CPN-Maoist, wielding batons, iron rods and black flags, took out a rally in Besisahar today and gheraoed the Lamjung District Administration Office for three hours.

The demonstrators also handed over a memorandum to CDO Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel, District Education Office and District Police Office demanding action against Youth Force cadres who thrashed three Maoist sympathisers yesterday.

Maoist cadres, who were on the way to the District Police Office, also tried to attack UML leader and CA member Prithvi Subba Gurung, but the police foiled the attempt.

The row escalated after YCL cadres attacked YF Lamjung vice chairman .
