Year on, status of missing journalist still unknown

Bajura, August 23

Whereabouts of Tej Bahadur Khadka, a journalist  who had gone missing from Bajura’s Budhinanda about a year ago, is unknown even after a year.

Khadka had gone missing on 26 August 2018 while he was returning home after attending a fair at sacred site Budhinanda on the occasion of Janai Purnima. Personnel of Nepali Army and Nepal Police were deployed to search for Khadka. A chopper was also used to search for the missing journo then. Khadka was associated with Kolti-based Radio Budhinanda.

After Khadka went out of contact, Federation of Nepali Journalists had formed a mission team led by its General Secretary Ramesh Bista to search for the missing journo.

The team consisting of Nepali Army, police personnel and FNJ had launched an extensive search operation of the journalist, but to no avail.

“No one has shown interest in searching for the missing journo at present,” said Press Union central member Dayaram Pandit.
