DHANKUTA: A youth has gone missing after being swept away by Tamor River in Dhankuta district, Wednesday evening.

Soch Kumar Rai, 20, a resident of Chuliban, Dhankuta Municipality-8, had gone for a swim with three friends when at around 5:00 pm he was swept away by the river from Mulghat, Dhankuta Municipality-9, said police.

After Rai was swept away, the three others rushed to Mulghat-based police post to alert them about their missing friend.

According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, a team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and locals are currently carrying out the search operation.
