Youth injured in attack dies

A youth who was critically injured when he was attacked by an unidentified group in Dumari, Shivthan at Rajbiraj Municipality, Saptari, died while undergoing treatment today. The deceased has been identified as Prem Yadav, 22.

Yadav was injured after he was attacked by the unidentified group with sharp weapons at 7:00pm last evening.

Yadav, the youngest son of then CPN-Maoist Centre Municipal Coordinator Bhannalal Yadav, died while receiving treatment at Birtanagar-based Neuro Hospital, said DSP Bhabesh Rimal.

Preliminary police investigation showed that the incident occurred due to old animosity. DSP Rimal claimed that the guilty involved in the crime were identified and would be booked shortly.

Meanwhile, issuing a separate press statement today, Provincial Assembly member Manish Kumar Suman and former Irrigation Minister Umesh Kumar Yadav deplored the incident and demanded that the guilty be arrested immediately.
