URLABARI: A youth who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in Belbari Municpality-3 along the East-West Highway in Morang district on Wednesday, died during the course of treatment Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as one of the pillion riders Miset Limbu (17) of Maiwakhola Rural Municipality-6 in Taplejung district, according to District Police Office (DPO), Morang.

According to police, in the accident that took place on Wednesday night, the motorcycle (Ko 12 Pa 4659) was rammed by a tractor (Ko 1 Ta 9910) from behind, injuring the rider and two pillion riders.

The injured were taken to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences where they were undergoing treatment. However, Limbu succumbed to his injuries today morning during the course of treatment, informed Morang DPO.

Meanwhile, the injured motorcyclist Pawan Rai (16) and another pillion rider Sangit Rai (20), both of Sundarharaicha Municipality-10 in the district, are still under treatment there.

The Belbari-based Area Police Office has impounded the tractor and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
