Youths stranded in Qatar
JHAPA, July 18
Two youths from Jhapa district, who had gone to Qatar two months ago for foreign employment, have been stranded there.
Sagar Dhakal and Prabin Rajbanshi of Saniarju Municipality, Jhapa, had gone to Qatar via Apolo Manpower Company in Birtamod after agreeing upon electronic indoor job.
Speaking at a press meet organised in Birtamod on Friday, Dhakal’s sister Hima Giri accused the manpower company of fraud as the youths did not get the job they were promised.
Dhakal’s father, Surya Prasad, said that the company in Qatar had sacked the youths after they demanded job as per their agreement with the manpower company. As per the agreement with the manpower company, the youths were promised 900 Riyal a month and had paid Rs 85,000 each for the job processing. Relatives of the youths have been requesting the representatives of the Apolo Manpower Company to rescue them and bring them back or provide them job as per the agreement.
According to the family members, they had held discussions with representatives of manpower company, Bikal Bhattarai and Prabin Raut, along with the representative of Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs’ Association Dhan Bahadur Pangdha, at Area Police Office, Birtamod, a month ago. “No action has been taken though the representatives had pledged to put them back into job,” they added.
