KAVRE: Normal life was crippled in ten districts on Sunday due to a bandh called by the UCPN(Maoist)-affiliated Tamsaling Rastriya Mukti Morcha(TRMM) to protest against the President’s move to reinstate Army Chief Rookmangud Katawal. TRMM has also demanded for the declaration of autonomous Tamsaling state, which includes Chitwan, Makwanpur,
Nuwakot, Sindhuli, Kavre, Dhading, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk, Ramechhap and Dolakha districts.
More than 20 persons were injured in clashes in Banepa municipality of Kavre district. According to police, the clashes ensued after protestors vandalised shops for defying bandh. Irate locals also vandalised UCPN-Maoist’s district office in Banepa. Police fired a few rounds of tear gas shells to control the situation. Meanwhile, theUCPN-Maoist cadres closed Unilever Limited at Basamadhi in Makawanpur district. Vehicles remained off the road in all districts. Educational institutions, industries and markets were closed throughout the day.
