SINDHULIGADHI: Tractor Entrepreneurs Union (TEU) has disrupted transportation on BP highway protesting against the police atrocities on Wednesday.
According to the TEU, driver Hom Bahadur Magar was beaten by the police last night. The demonstrators have demanded legal action against those involved and compensation for the injured. They also urged an end to the practice of inquiry and detention by the police without any reason. Enterprenuers said that the transportation halt will continue until their demands are met.
Vehicular movement has been halted and hundreds of vehicles have been stranded along the highway. However, the police have been trying to start a dialogue with the TEU to open the highway, according to Sub-Inspector Mukesh Singh.
