KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Committee began the debate on the draft of the new constitution submitted by the draft sub-committee from Monday. According to CA Constitutional Committee chairman Nilambar Acharya the meeting will be discussing the issues that failed to reach consensus in the sub-committee meeting. The meeting of the sub-committee on Thursday failed to strike a consensus following the divergent views of its lawmakers. The lawmakers were divided over issues like the concept of changing the national flag, the term to address the past monarchy rule and pointing out the issues that could and could not be amended in the new constitution.
