KATHMANDU: Hari Om Shrivastav and 13 other members from the democratic panel won the election of Nepal Engineers Association on Friday. He received a total of 1940 votes for the post of president while his opponent Bharat Pahari got 1927.
For the post of vice president Bhagat Singh Pradhan beat his opponent Shambhu Shrestha with 2,220 as opposed to the latter's 1590.
Dhruba Thapa was elected as general secretary after scoring 2103 votes while his opponent Jagat Shrestha bagged 1740 votes. Mukesh Kafle and Laxmi Panta were elected as deputy general secretary and treasurer respectively.
Deepak Shrestha, Niraj Shah, Ramesh Koirala, Govinda Poudel, Ram Prasad Ghimire, Rajan Lama, Ramesh Subedi, Dipesh Bista, Parithosh Chaudhari and Remi Bajracharya were elected as members. Bajracharya is the sole candidate who won from the progressive panel.
