KATHMANDU: It’s time to walk in the sun and take part in one of the biggest street festivals of the Capital — Durbar Marg Street Festival. Held every year for the last five years, this is the sixth festival that is being organised by the Durbar Marg Development Board. The funds generated from the event is used for the development of areas surrounding
Durbar Marg.
The festival is a day for family and friends, to enjoy each other’s company enjoying food, fun and music while walking freely on the usually busy king’s way.
The concert is one of the main highlights of the festival and this year’s performing bands include The Axe, Karma, Deepak Bajracharya and band, Mt 8848, and the Strings. Singers like Yogeshwor Amatya, Sugam Pokhrel, Sreya Sotang, Jyoti Ghimire and Nalina Chitrakar will also be performing.
Yamaha is the title sponsor of the event featuring its latest model Fazer ‘Hamro Gang ko Saan’. Royal Stag, Coca Cola, San Miguel and Real are the co-sponsors for this event, with ABC television as the media partner.
The fest begins from 11:00 am onwards.
