KATHMANDU: Getting ready for weddings? Do make sure you have deep cut backless blouses with little flower accentuates. For spring, stack your wardrobe with colourful printed dresses, and self print ones for the parties.

This is what the designers on the first day of The Himalayan Times TGIF Nepal Fashion Week '09 at Hotel Yak and Yeti on September 7 showcased in their collections.

Out of the 10 collections splashed on the first day, themes like Bridal Festimonia -- with gorgeous saris and sexy cholis, Party de Lounge with cocktail dresses with variety of necklines, and Off Spring Beauty with bright and fresh prints, were remarkable. Hot Winter's collection and Dramatic Cotton included some well cut dresses with appealing designs.

Though Touch of Nepal was a bit low on style quotient as knee length trousers looked a bit awkward, the jewelleries from Neva Craft of Pokhnajal were attractive. A Walk in the Clouds had well designed skirts and tops.

Inspired by styles that have been followed from ages, styles that have made their marks in the world -- Mughal Mania and Street Ghetto -- could not quite capture the essence of the themes, but as a whole the sequences were atrractive.

Eleven more themes set to dazzle the ramp on September 8.
