Lawmakers of Nepali Congress (NC), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP), CPN-Marxist Leninist,
including other opposition parties, shouted slogans against “intervention in the national army”.
“The government has sought clarification with the CoAS on matters which are sub-judice at the Supreme Court.
The clarification, sought with the intention of sacking the CoAS, is unconstitutional and against the spirit of the peace process,” they said unanimously before blockading the well. Leaders of the major political parties claimed that the Maoist move against General Katawal reflected its ulterior motive.
Meanwhile, UCPN-Maoist affiliated YCL, ANNISU- R and unions have taken to the streets to bolster the morale of their parent organisation in the capital today.
