BESISAHAR: Locals have disrupted the Besisahar-Dumre road section since early Monday morning protesting police atrocities.

Hundreds of passengers heading to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and other destinations have been stranded.

Locals alleged that the police used force to resume transportation on Sunday after the locals had called an indefinite road strike on Saturday and Sunday protesting the death of a local boy Karma Tamang, 8, who was killed in a road accident on Friday. The kin of the victim have demanded compensation about Rs 12 lakhs. However, the transportation entrepreneurs refused to pay more than Rs 5 lakhs.
