Madonna’s concert at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday night featured two very special guests, who nevertheless were never on the same stage together: former Mouseketeers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Pop superstar Madonna was among the celebrities that expressed support for pop princess Britney Spears during her more difficult times of not so long ago. It should come as no surprise then that the 50-year-old singer invited the younger one on stage Thursday night to rock on “Human Nature.”

Madonna played guitar as well and the two performed staying close together and frequently placing one arm around the other’s shoulder. Madonna courteously kissed Britney’s hand when they had finished their song. Kissing comes comfortably to the two, as we can all recall their cheeky tongue-action during the opening performance of the 2003 MTV Music Awards.

The performance was part of Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet tour, in support of her latest album “Hard Candy.” The night also featured another young pop icon, from the same generation as Britney (and as it happens, former boyfriend) Justin Timberlake, who joined Madonna on stage for their duet “4 Minutes.” The two also did some of their fancy dancing, as in the video.

While some concertgoers had speculated they would see Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake on the same stage, perhaps even singing and dancing together, this never happened. It isn’t even clear whether the two faced each other at all.

It is clear though that not even lighting problems and technical difficulties could stop Madonna from giving fans her best, on a half-completed set as it was. Also attending the Los Angeles performance were celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez and Carrie Underwood.
