GHORAHI: UCPN-Maoist standing committee member Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the Nepali Congress is the main obstacle for consensus.

Speaking to the journalists in Ghorahi, Dang, Mahara said that other parties are ready for talks but the NC is opposing the discussion on the move of the President in the Legislative Parliament. He added that no agreement would be forged if the President's move is not corrected.

He informed that if no consensus can be forged within mid October, the third people's movement would begin.

Former Information Minister Mahara underscored that if the consensus is not reached among the parties the new statute would not be drafted in the given time frame. He predicted that it would lead to army rule and subsequently a major agitation would follow.
