KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav held talks with constitutional experts about the ongoing political crisis on Saturday evening.
According to sources, the President was unsatisfied with the consensus proposal being prepared by the NC and the UML for the correction of the President' move on the then Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal. A total of ten prominent lawyers including Dr Bhimarjun Acharya, Dr Bipin Adhikari, Kumar Regmi and Tika Ram Bhattarai discussed about the different issues of the constitution.
"I had not crossed the border line of the constitution in the past. I am committed to abide by the statute at present and in the future as well" a lawyer quoted the President as saying.
Surya Dhungel, legal advisor to the President said that the President took advice from the lawyers in the row over the Vice President's oath of office and secrecy also. He informed that the lawyers advised the President to consult with the government in the Vice President's case.
