KATHANDU: The Standing Committee meeting of the main opposition party UCPN-Maoist held at its party office in Paris Danda on Thursday afternoon decided that they would organise protest programmes if the three big parties failed to strike consensus on the common resolution motion issue by Friday.

Spokesperson of the party Dinanath Sharma warned that they would organise protest programmes which he said would be extensive if their demands on terminologies in the content of the common resolution motion were not addressed. Sharma said that his party waited till the end of Dashain and Tihar with the expectation that the parties would be able to forge consensus but as they failed to do so, his party saw no alternative to protests.
