KATHMANDU: The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal (OHCHR-N) on Thursday urged all political parties to respect the spirit of the peace process.
OHCHR-N expressed its deep concern over the growing impunity in the country for which political parties and their affiliations were responsible.
OHCHR-N in a press statement urged all political parties and their affiliated bodies to peacefully carry out their legal activities. Any incidents evoked have to be resolved through fair investigation in cooperation with the Nepal Police and wrapped up promptly, added the statement.
Richard Bennett, the OHCHR-N representatives, appealed to all leaders to ensure that their members refrain from violence and threatening speeches. All the parties have to abide by commitments made in Comprehensive Peace Agreements, added Bennett.
