KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court today fixed May 10 for delivery of verdict of application filed by the Defence Ministry to vacate the
SC's stay order against the government decision to retire eight Brigadier-Generals of Nepal Army. A division bench comprising justices Anup Raj Sharma and Prem Sharma also asked the lawyers to furnish their written claims before the court by May 5. "The SC will issue its verdict on May 10," Justices said. The Court had issued an interim order last month asking the Maoist
Government to put on hold its decision to retire eight army Brigadier-Generals, even though the Army Chief and Headquarters had
recommended extension of their tenure by three years as provided by the Army Act 2006.
