KATHMANDU: On the auspicious occasion of Dashain, Hridaya Group, a voluntary organisation working for under privileged children, took an initiative to entertain orphans of Ashraya Bal Ashram and even provided them food and clothes on September 23. All the innocent faces of the children lighted with delight as new clothes and delicious treats were offered to them.

For the last six years Hridaya Group has been campaigning about social issues by conducting awareness programmes and blood donation programmes. “We are working for under privileged children but our work is not limited to that sector only. We have been working for various issues such as flood victims and many others,” said Manish Jha, President of Hridaya Group. He added, “We say it with great pride that we have not taken any donations or help from foreign countries. We accept help only if it is from an NRN.” The event was held in the house of Jha’s close

acquaintance.

Some children sang songs that touched every ones heart while others shared jokes.

“One’s strength can be of great help to another. Therefore we work hand in hand with other organisations working for children and make sure that they are registered ones,” said Jha. At the programme hip hop artiste Nirnaya Shrestha who is also a member of the group also made a contribution by distributing stationery items to the children. — HNS
