MADHYAPUR THIMI: The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) on Sunday published the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) results for this year.

The exams were held from March 25 to May 2.

Of the total 342,632 candidates, 234,602 have passed.

The pass percentage stands at 68.47 per cent, which is 4.74 per cent higher than last year. This year, too, the OCE has not published the list of

toppers.

Of the 234,602 regular students, 132,662 boys and 101,940 girls, respectively, came up with flying colours.The boys did better than the girls in the all-important board exams.The percentage were 72.03 and 64.34, respectively.

A total of 11,304 students — 7121 boys and 4183 girls— passed the exams with

distinction. Altogether 87,772 examinees — 52,408 boys and 35,364 girls — secured the first division. As many as 125,421 examinees — 67,790 boys and 57,631 girls — bagged the second division. Similarly, 10,105 examinees — 5,343 boys and 4,762 girls — secured the third

division. Of the 45,890 exempted candidates, 21,887 examinees — 9,302 boys and 12,585 girls — passed. While, 708 passed in the first division, 17,570 bagged the second division and 3,609 got the third division.

Results can be accessed through PSTN and CDMA phones of the Nepal Telecom by dialling 1600.

While, UTL subscribers can dial 1215. Text messages can be sent to 1400 from an NTC mobile and to 2722 (THT Live) from NTC and Mero Mobile. Candidates can also tune into FM stations for the results.

According to exam controller, Birendra Kumar Jha, the supplementary SLC examination will be held between August 9 and 16.
