KATHMANDU: The USAID announced on Friday the relief packages for the victims of the floods and landslides in the Kailali, Kanchanpur,Dadeldhura and Accham districts of Far Western development region of the country.
It has given the grant to Save the Children and the relief items including 500 blankets, 500 tarpaulins, 500 sets of replacement household items, and 400 water containers to Nepal Red Cross Society.
Issuing a press release, USAID/Nepal Mission Director Dr. Kevin A Rushing said "the foresight of these disaster preparedness programmes allows us to provide immediate assistance to the victims of these devastating floods."
The relief package has come when the floods and the landslides claimed 57 lives in the west Nepal due to incessant rains.
The USAID has been working in Nepal since 57 years providing assistance to the Nepalese in the areas of peace building, democracy and governance, health and family planning, economic growth and humanitarian aids.
