BLOG SURF: Cowardice

A few days ago, I came across a news article which talked about PETA India offering a cash reward of Rs. 10,000 to anyone

who helps nab those responsible for carrying out a string of brutal attacks on street dogs in Panaji, Goa. The animal welfare organisation took this step as the police were yet to make any arrests in connection to this heinous act.

How can anyone do such a thing? How can anyone just pick up a rod and use it to beat a helpless street dog to pulp? And if the reports are to be believed, these actions weren’t taken in self-defence but with an intention to harm for pleasure, to kill for sport.

It could have been a rabid dog, responsible for attacking the children. Maybe it really had turned into a threat for all the people

living in the locality. If a

dog has to be put down, it has to be done so ethically. If you are taking someone’s life, the least you can do is making it as painless as possible.
