TOPICS: Savings for the future
Someone had perfectly quoted, “A penny saved is a penny earned”. Needless to say, saving is an important part of everyone’s life. There’s a famous quote relevant to this,” Money comes in like a tortoise, but goes out like a rabbit.” There’s a lot of truth in this statement.
Really, money has a great value in our day-to-day lives. In this materialistic world, people are so obsessed with money that they don’t have time to wonder about the wonders of this amazing world. Sometimes, I feel in a way as if people cannot even breathe without money in this acquisitive society.
It’s true that money must be saved in order to cope with the catastrophic happenings or unfortunate emergencies that unpredictable future may present before us. Most importantly, we need to blur the difference between our basic needs and dire necessities. Our basic needs must be fulfilled at any cost if we are to attain quality of life. Also they come prior to our dire necessities.
Nonetheless, happiness doesn’t lie only in saving more and more money for future purposes, but it can be felt by enjoying and cherishing each and every moment of our life to the fullest by spending the money we have in a sensible and responsible manner.
What is the use of that money that you had saved in the past at the expense of years of happiness by sacrificing utmost pleasure; that too may have significantly less value at the present or in the future? You just enjoy the beauty of the present without flaunting your money or property. There’s no point in spending money extravagantly just to impress others or to get valued (as they say) in the society.
One ought to make sure that his/her style of spending money recklessly and irresponsibly would not impact negatively on himself or any others. My point is, expenditure and savings ought to be managed in a balanced proportion for viable outcomes. After all, earning and saving goes on and on.
Money mismanagement may plunge us into mental turmoil and chaos. That’s why you sometimes need to compromise even if you have a colossal desire to get some expensive items provided that you don’t earn much.
What we need to realize is that saving some sum of money anticipating for a secure future and spending reasonable amount for fulfilling overwhelming desire in the course of attaining mental peace, makes our life worth living.
