UAE's Prime Minister and Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared in Twitter, "The transmission of the Hope Probe's first image of Mars is a defining moment in our history and marks the UAE joining advanced nations involved in space exploration. We hope this mission will lead to new discoveries about Mars which will benefit humanity."

UAE is the fifth country to reach Mars after United States of America, Soviet Union, European Union, India and China; and the second to reach there at the first attempt, India being the first.

The Hope probe is currently orbiting Mars. It has been 209 days since its launch and is attempting to land on the planet sometime in May.
