COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Test opener Kaushal Silva was discharged from hospital and told he’s fully healthy on Tuesday two days after he was struck on the head by a cricket ball.

Sri Lanka Cricket said doctors confirmed Silva was mildly concussed by the hit in a practice match. Silva will rest for two more days and resume gym and training gradually before starting batting practice next week.

Silva was fielding at short leg when a powerful sweep by Dinesh Chandimal struck the back of his head at Pallekele on Sunday, while in camp for the tour of England next month.
