Kathmandu, July 30 :

The second Corporate Snooker Tournament, organised by Annapurna Post in association with Radisson Hotel, is scheduled from August 1-3 in Kathmandu.

The growing popularity of the championship among the corporate houses is exhibited by the fact that the number of the participants have increased to 64 from the last year’s 48. The players are divided into four groups consisting of 16 players and only eight players from each group will advance to the second round. The numbers will be reduced to 16 in the third round. The first three rounds will be played in best-of-three format while the the quarter-finals will be of best-of-five. Likewise, the semi-finals will be of seven frames and final will be played of nine frames.

Everest Bank and Himalayan Distillery are the sponsors while Krishi Premura is the co-sponsor of the event. The tournament is supported by Club Himalaya, Photo Concern, KGH Hotels and Yeti Airlines. Image Channel and Image FM are the official media partners of the event.

Binod Shrestha of Gulf Air was the champion of the first edition but he will not be defending his title this year.
